DW should go back to the drawing board on this one and come back with an improved version. Suffice it to say, inverted L-arms are an undesirable arrangement for numerous reasons. More importantly, in my case, it did not allow mounting of the toms (8" depth) low enough for my needs without inverting the L-arms. However as others mentioned, it is heavy. Mounting a cymbal or aux percussion device was a bonus.ĭW tom holder - I've owned this track-based design and it does give plenty of fore-aft adjustment. Though I primarily use a single 12" mounted tom on my bass drum, I was looking for a unit that would give me the flexibility to mount two toms (10" & 12") when desired. Though I don't expect my thoughts or conclusions to be authoritative for anyone but myself, I figured someone, somewhere, sometime might benefit from my time spent sorting out these details. No absolute proclamations, but a few observations based on some serious research and experiementation, which one tends to do before drilling a virgin bass drum on a new kit. Sorry for the length of this, but as you know Bill, I've been through this recently with a couple kits.
